Intel notebooks, laptop and think pad computers
February 6th, 2008 | by admin |There is one aspect where intel notebook falls behind their desktop counterparts: Upgradeability. There are economic as well as technical reasons for this limitation. There are several vendors out there in the market who more often than not have proprietary design and construction for their components, resulting in difficult and costly upgrade or repairs. Laptop components can rarely be swapped between different vendors and in some instances even between the same vendor’s different product lines. Most of the peripherals like audio, video, USB, wifi or Bluetooth are generally integrated on the motherboard thus any sort of upgrade will need to be completed using external ports, slots or peripherals. But batteries RAM and hard drives are comparatively easy to replace/upgrade.
