I’m Tech Savvy, But Still Don’t Understand Wireless Technology

August 12th, 2008 | by admin |

I like to think that I'm a fairly tech savvy person. I have a cell phone, laptop, PDA, iPod and so forth. I have satellite TV, DSL Internet access and wireless technology. I work on a computer almost every day and have for the past 10 years at least. However, I still suffer from confusion when it comes to network perimeter security and wireless technology. I just don't understand how people can invade my computer or use my network when I'm on a wireless service. I must be missing something fairly simple. Even if I don't understand how wireless technology works, I do need to be able to set up my computer so I'm not vulnerable to people phishing for information.
