History of PaperPort Software

October 23rd, 2008 | by admin |

PaperPort software solutions were originally operated by an organization named Visioneer.  Their main thing was manufacturing scanners and other image-related hardware.  Then in 1999, they purchased another company, ScanSoft.  ScanSoft was one of the leaders in the optical character recognition field.  (OCR allows computers to convert scanned letters into actual type.)    Three years ago (in ’05), Nuance Communications joined together with ScanSoft to create the present-day company as we know them today.  Nuance Communications is the name of the organization currently in charge of PaperPort’s great products.  Their latest scanner paperport software is PaperPort 11—and it’s second to none in terms of features or price.
