Unable to download any microsoft updates

I am unable to download any microsoft updates from their website. The microsoft downloader is not working in my pc. I checked the computer by experts and found spyware. So I would need to wipe the hard drive. I have not done that yet. I have run anti malware and spyware programs without finding anything. The computer also takes time to load and is very sluggish. Thank you in advance.
